Mahj-a-Lot began with a simple conversation. Melanie, a longtime Mahjong player, introduced the game to Kari after a chance meeting at a nail salon. As Kari learned, their shared enthusiasm quickly grew into a desire to bring Mahjong to others in a more approachable way.

Heather helped her friends launch Mahj-a-Lot and later joined the business as the idea continued to grow.
